Honours Board

This section if for everyone that had score 100+ and 5+ wicket hauls that we have on record for the 1st team
Note- These are only from 1998 since we have been in the Y&DSCL

The first team have appeared in four league cup finals since 1998 and also one appearance and winning in the Presidents trophy in 2000. The 1XI have only won one final out of four.

But in arguably Whitkirk's best win in the Y&DSCL, the 2005 Readman Cup Final win in which they overcame Stamford Bridge by 5 runs. That Year Stamford Bridge won the league and Whitkirk had a disappointing year in the League. In the match programme, all the talk was of Stamford winning as they had a overseas called Lorenzo Ingram who had that year already at Whitkirk hit 160+ and had broken several league and cup records in that year leading upto the Final. There was no mention of a possible Whitkirk win.

Whitkirk had their own overseas star in Bowling all rounder Harlon haye who was also Captain for the day in the absence of Andy Pierson.
Whitkirk were beaten finalists in the previos two years so it was third time lucky. Mark Murphy who has appeared in every final inc of the 2000 success in the Presidents trophy aged just 14 took the Man of the Match award with 68 & 3-39 but was pushed all the way by Captain Harlon Haye 55 & 2-15. But the pair combined all game, firstly to put on 77 which was the games highest stand and took half of the Stamford wickets. But it was the prize of the cup that was most important as this young team become of age with an outstanding fielding performance. Tipped off by Jon Colley coolness in taking the bails off at the on strikers end to run out the last pair to win the game.
